Known Issues
- Quick Note: Several multiplayer issues can be resolved by quitting the game, waiting 30 seconds, then restarting the game and inviting your friends to a match again. If you're having any kind of trouble with a multiplayer match, we recommend a restart.
- There is difficulty inviting other players to a match.
- Players must be friends on Meta (following each other) to invite each other to a match. Please search for your friend's username in-headset and follow them to be able to invite them to a match. We are looking into a more public or code-based matchmaking system for a future update.
- If a player leaves their boundary and returns to the game in a multiplayer match, the game can appear "soft-locked" with the avatars frozen but voice chat still functional.
- We are working on a fix for this to be patched in the next update. If this happens in the meantime, restarting the match will reset the avatars.
- If a player joins the lobby after the level is selected, they are unable to go through the portal to start the level.
- We are working on a fix for this to be patched in the next update. In the meantime, please be sure all members of your party are present in the lobby before selecting a level. If this issue occurs, quit the game, wait about 30 seconds, then restart the match (then be sure all players are present before selecting the level)
- After participating in pre-release playtests, the trap room may not display as many traps as it should.
- This is a known issue that we are working to fix. In the meantime, try deleting the old game save file, deleting the old app and reinstalling it fresh.
- The microphone does not work.
- This is a rare issue, and we believe if the user has Meta Quest Developer Hub (MQDH) running on their headset, it may disable the headset's microphone. If this occurs, please quit the MQDH software, restart the game and try again.
- Sometimes a multiplayer match will end unexpectedly before all 3 keys are found.
- We are investigating this issue and working on a solution for it. It may have one of two possible causes:
- The match ends if the connection is lost to either the Haunted player or the host of the match (whoever invited the other players to the game). If either of those players have a poor internet connection, the match may end unexpectedly. If this happens, try to relocate to an area with a better internet connection and try again.
- If the players are not all on the same version of the game, the match may end unexpectedly. Check the version of the game that is installed for all players. You can do this by checking "More Info" on the store page in-headset, or by clicking on the "..." button on the library and going into Settings and checking there; or if you are in-game, you can press the Meta button on the left controller to bring up the in-game menu, which will display the version number. Verify all players are on the same version number. If not, update the version for whichever player is on an older version, have all players quit the game, and then try again.
- We are investigating this issue and working on a solution for it. It may have one of two possible causes:
- The games gets very dark for a little while.
- One of the scare traps is to simulate a "headset shutdown", so your headset appears to go dark. We may revise this trap to make it clearer what is happening in a future update.
- The costume machines are not functional.
- The costumes are only available in multiplayer mode, we may make this clearer in a future update.
